How Vitamin D3 and K2 Actually Work Together
Each tablet provides 4000IU (100μg) of vitamin D3 alongside 125μg of vitamin K2 as MK7. As covered in more detail in our complete D3+K2 guide, it’s worth being precise about the actual mechanism here: K2 doesn’t “enhance D3 absorption” as such — the genuine synergy is that D3 helps the body absorb calcium from the gut, while K2 activates proteins that help direct that calcium toward bone rather than soft tissue and arteries. These are complementary but distinct roles, not one vitamin boosting the other’s uptake.
Vitamin D has an established, EU-authorised role in normal immune function, bone maintenance via calcium absorption, muscle function, and maintenance of normal blood calcium levels. Claims about dental health specifically rest on a considerably thinner evidence base than these core roles, and are worth reading as more preliminary.
Worth knowing: if you take warfarin or other blood-thinning medication, vitamin K can reduce its effectiveness, and dosing may need to be stabilised and monitored by a doctor if you take both — this is a genuine interaction worth discussing with your GP before starting K2-containing supplements, not just a general caution.
4000IU is on the higher end of commonly referenced D3 ranges, generally more relevant for confirmed deficiency than routine year-round maintenance — if you haven’t had your levels tested, it’s worth discussing with your GP whether this strength or a more standard 1,000-2,000IU is right for you.
These vegan micro tablets (D3 sourced from lichen) contain no GMO ingredients, magnesium stearate, or unnecessary additives, manufactured to GMP standards with batch testing. Take one tablet daily, preferably with a meal containing some fat for better absorption; 240 tablets provide an 8-month supply. Speak to your GP before starting if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication (particularly warfarin), or have an existing health condition.
