A Small But Worthwhile Factual Correction
Each tablet provides 1000mcg of methylcobalamin, the active form of B12 (40,000% NRV) — a high but genuinely low-risk dose, since B12 has very low toxicity and excess is generally excreted rather than causing harm.
It’s worth correcting one claim in this product’s description: B12 can actually be stored in the body, primarily in the liver, often in quantities sufficient to last several years. This is precisely why B12 deficiency in vegans and vegetarians typically develops gradually over a long period after reducing or eliminating animal products, rather than appearing quickly — the body draws down existing stores first. This doesn’t change the practical advice (B12 is genuinely difficult to obtain reliably from plant foods alone, making supplementation or fortified foods important for vegans and vegetarians), but it’s worth being accurate about the underlying physiology.
B12 has established, EU-authorised roles in normal energy-yielding metabolism, psychological function, red blood cell formation, cell division, and normal immune and nervous system function — genuine, accurately stated roles. Methylcobalamin is one of the active, bioavailable forms of B12, alongside adenosylcobalamin, both of which the body can use directly.
