An Important Note on Zinc High Strength Dosage Before You Start
This product provides 50mg of elemental zinc per tablet as zinc gluconate, with the suggested daily dose of two tablets delivering 100mg. As covered in more detail in our complete zinc guide, the UK’s safe upper level for regular, ongoing zinc intake from supplements is 25mg daily, with short-term higher doses of up to around 40mg sometimes used for specific situations (such as the onset of a cold) for a matter of days, not as an ongoing habit. This product’s suggested dose is four times the regular-use limit, and even a single 50mg tablet exceeds both thresholds.
Given this, we can’t recommend this product’s stated 2-tablet daily dose for ongoing, regular use. Sustained excess zinc intake is genuinely linked to reduced copper absorption and, over time, potential copper deficiency and other effects. If you’re considering this product, splitting a tablet, using it only very occasionally and briefly (such as at the very onset of a cold, for a few days maximum), or choosing a differently dosed Zinc High Strength product suited to daily use instead are all more appropriate approaches than following the stated daily directions long-term. This is genuinely worth discussing with your GP or pharmacist before deciding how, or whether, to use this specific product regularly.
Zinc High Strength has a wide range of genuine, EFSA-recognised roles, including normal immune function, skin, hair, and nail maintenance, cognitive function, vision, bone health, DNA synthesis, antioxidant protection, and normal fertility and testosterone levels in the blood — real, established roles, though these reflect zinc’s normal physiological function rather than a reason to exceed safe intake levels in pursuit of more benefit.

Speak to your GP before use if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or considering ongoing daily use of this product given the dosage consideration above.
